NHTSA Complaint #11562017 — 2015 HONDA CR-V

The contact owns a 2015 Honda CR-V. The contact stated while driving 60-65 MPH, the vehicle started stalling. The contact was able to veer to the side of the road. The contact was able to restart the vehicle; however, the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the battery had failed. The contact stated that the battery was replaced; however, the failure recurred while driving. The contact was able to drive to the dealer, who diagnosed the vehicle, but could not determine the cause of the failure. The contact stated that the failure recurred a third time. The contact was able to pull to the side of the road. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that cylinder #3 was misfiring and was leaking air. The dealer replaced the spark plugs and performed a valve adjustment; however, the failure persisted. The dealer then determined that unknown injectors needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 15V121000 (Engine and Engine Cooling) however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 128,000.
