NHTSA Complaint #11555437 — 2015 FORD FUSION

The contact owns a 2015 Ford Fusion. The contact stated while his wife was driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle inadvertently lost motive power. The contact's wife was able to coast to the shoulder of the roadway, where the vehicle was able to restart. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who diagnosed a failure with the transmission range sensor. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was 65,000.
