The contact owns a 2017 Chevrolet Malibu. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the Steering Assist Reduced message was displayed. The vehicle was taken to the dealer; however, the vehicle was not yet diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and advised the contact to file a complaint with the NHTSA Hotline. The failure mileage was approximately 87,000.
