NHTSA Complaint #11553419 — 2020 FORD ESCAPE

The contact owns a 2020 Ford Escape. The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked, the driver’s side door made an abnormal sound when opened. Additionally, the driver’s door was not able to be securely closed. No warning light was illuminated. The vehicle had been diagnosed. The contact was informed that the failure was due to fractured spot wields and the check arm mount in the door assembly. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and determined that the VIN was not included in a recall. The failure mileage was approximately 82,000.
