Consumer Description

The contact owns a 2020 Ford Escape. The contact stated that while entering the vehicle through the driver’s side front door, he heard a popping sound. The contact stated inspected the door and became aware that the door weld was fractured and had punched a hole into the door frame. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and the fractured door weld was confirmed. The contact was informed that the front driver's side door needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but provided no assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 61,000.
