The contact owns a 2014 Hyundai Sonata. The contact stated that while his wife was driving at an undisclosed speed, she smelled an abnormal gasoline odor inside the vehicle. After a visual inspection of the engine compartment, the contact observed a fuel leak near the high-pressure fuel pump. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who diagnosed a failure with the high-pressure fuel pump hose. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, and a case was opened. The failure mileage was 125,000.
