NHTSA Complaint #11546031 — 2020 FORD ESCAPE

The contact owns a 2020 Ford Escape. The contact stated the front driver's side window failed to roll up intermittently. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where the front driver's side door was opened all the way to inspect the window failure; however, after the inspection, the dealer attempted to close the front driver's side door, but the door failed to close securely. The dealer informed the contact that the front driver's side door hinge attachments had fractured, which was a known failure. The dealer determined that the door needed to be replaced at the contractor’s expense. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact related the failure to Ford Campaign Number: SSM 50150. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but provided no assistance since the vehicle was out of warranty. The failure mileage was approximately 77,000.
