NHTSA Complaint #11539165 — 2014 CHEVROLET IMPALA

The contact owns a 2014 Chevrolet Impala. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the steering wheel stiffened, and the vehicle was difficult to maneuver. After restarting the vehicle, the failure persisted. The EPS warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who diagnosed a failure with the EPS module. The vehicle was not repaired. After investigating the failure, the contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 14V450000 (Steering),but the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but was unable to assist. The failure mileage was 175,000.
