NHTSA Complaint #11538857 — 2007 JEEP LIBERTY

The contact owns a 2007 Jeep Liberty. The contact stated while driving 20 MPH and making a turn, the passenger's side of the vehicle inadvertently lowered onto the wheels. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed that the passenger's side ball joint had fractured due to corrosion. The vehicle was repaired. An unknown dealer was notified of the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but not assistance because the vehicle was not covered under Warranty. The failure mileage was approximately 153,000.
