NHTSA Complaint #11524268 — 2010 FORD FUSION

The Power Steering Assist Fault would occasionally come on and reset itself if I turn the vehicle off then back on. Well, I was with my partner out and about and got in my vehicle, went to start and the message popped up. So I tried restarting the vehicle and it didn't work. I tried multiple times and to no prevail has it reset. Go figure it happened right after I paid the loan off. We had to wait for a tow truck to arrive have it towed home. I checked fuses and wiring and battery voltages when I got home and everything checked out normally. I contacted a Ford dealership and they said with the parts, labor, reprogram and alignment it could be up to around $2,500.00. I don't have this kind of money laying around. Now I don't have a vehicle to get back and forth to work. I've read online about numerous cases of this incident and nothing has come of it yet and that's just really frustrating for a hard working citizen trying to get by. I hope and pray this gets a recall or something ASAP.
