NHTSA Complaint #11523985 — 2015 RAM 1500

The contact owns a 2015 Ram 1500. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 75 MPH, he heard an abnormal sound under the hood of the vehicle before the vehicle started to hesitate. The contact stated that he was able to maneuver the vehicle off the roadway and the vehicle stalled. The contact was unable to restart the vehicle. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was then towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the crank shaft and engine failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 175,000.
