NHTSA Complaint #11522845 — 2017 HONDA CR-V

The Body Control Module has internal failure. The lights, alarms, locks and dashboard, when not running and locked up in garage, spontaneously come on. When driving vehicle warning lights flash about problems that don't exist. Apparently, the CRV should not be driven with this problem, as it can cause automatic stops, lane changes and other safety issues. This has been a recall in numerous other Honda CRV's, however American Honda refuses to recall 2017's. I believe there are 2 reasons for this; the part is on a National Back Order and the cost to repair is $800. There are many reports of others having the same issues with their 2017 CRV's, I hope we don't have to wait until something serious happens before you have Honda recall the 2017 for failed Body Control Module- the brain of the car. I leased and then purchased this CRV, it has been well taken care of by the local Honda dealer. It was a case manager at Honda who suggested I contact you, as you can do recalls.
