NHTSA Complaint #11517765 — 2019 ACURA TLX

I leased a new Acura TLX vin [XXX] from Hall Automotive Virginia Beach in April 2019. After about 3 years the lettering on the drive gear selector button started wearing off when the car had about 12000 miles and was still under its 4 year factory warranty. I have been very careful with my car and did not expose it to any chemicals that would cause this (and this has never happened on any of my other vehicles). During the warranty period I took the car to 2 different Acura dealers (Hall Acura and Priority Acura Chesapeake VA) who both said that Acura would not replace it under warranty. I also called Acura who told me to go to a dealer which I had already done. This is a potential safety hazard as it could make it more difficult to put the car into gear.
