Consumer Description
The initial brake pedal press is soft and travels nearly to the floorboard. A quick subsequent press of the brake pedal, or "pumping the brakes," changes the pedal travel and sensitivity. This condition has eluded repeated repair attempts by the service center and the chassis manufacturer's team of engineers. The chassis manufacturer has sent its engineers to the service location for hands-on evaluation and repair attempts, to no avail. Parts replaced during the service center's repair attempts include the calipers, pads & rotors, brake lines, brake master cylinder, brake booster, ABS unit, and many quarts of brake fluid. Safety is at risk for the driver as well as others due to inconsistent brake pedal feel and performance on an 18,000lb GVWR vehicle traveling on public roadways. There were no warning lamps or other messages displayed. The service center has indicated their network of shops has had at least 15 similar complaints on similar year & model RVs as of approximately the 2nd of March, 2023.
