NHTSA Complaint #11513108 — 2015 CHRYSLER 200

The contact owns a 2015 Chrysler 200. The contact stated while driving approximately 20 MPH and depressing the brake pedal, the vehicle lost electrical power, causing the brakes and the steering wheel to lock. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact was unable to veer to the side of the road. The contact was able to restart the vehicle and continued driving; however, the contact stated that the failure had been reoccurring increasingly while driving. The contact contacted CarMax and an appointment was scheduled for a diagnostic test. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 16V529000 (Power Train) and 15V47000 (Electrical System); however, the vehicle was previously repaired under the recalls. The dealer and the manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 84,900.
