NHTSA Complaint #11504033 — 2011 FORD FLEX

The contact owns a 2011 Ford Flex. The contact stated while driving 65 MPH, the vehicle lost power steering functionality intermittently. The traction control warning light and several unknown warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the steering gear box had failed and needed to be replaced. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 15V340000 (Steering); however, the VIN was not included. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 148,000.
