NHTSA Complaint #11497567 — 2015 KIA SORENTO

The contact owns a 2015 Kia Sorento. The contact stated while driving approximately 25 MPH, the vehicle stalled without warning. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic where it was confirmed that the engine had failed. The engine was replaced with an OEM engine. On another occasion, the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the same independent mechanic and the contact was informed that the catalytic convertor needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure; however, no assistance was provided because the mileage had exceeded 100,000. The failure mileage was 106,000.
