Consumer Description
The contact owns a 2013 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving 60 MPH, the vehicle down shifted and decelerated, and the power train malfunction warning light illuminated. The contact pulled over and waited until the vehicle cooled down. Once the contact restarted the vehicle, the vehicle started to operate normally. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic and the contact was informed that the powertrain control module (PCM) needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was taken to the dealer however, no failure was found. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 37,000.
