NHTSA Complaint #11494528 — 2011 FORD FUSION HYBRID

The contact owns a 2011 Ford Fusion Hybrid. The contact stated that while driving down a hill at approximately 35 MPH, the "Service Power Steering Now" and Service Advance Track" messages were displayed before the power steering malfunctioned and the steering wheel became very difficult to turn in either direction. The vehicle was towed to the residence. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The local dealer and manufacturer were notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The contact was informed that the VIN was not included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 15V340000 (Steering). The contact stated that the vehicle had experienced the same failure listed in the recall. The failure mileage was 112,891.
