NHTSA Complaint #11491602 — 2013 FORD ESCAPE

The contact owns a 2013 Ford Escape. The contact stated while attempting start the vehicle, the vehicle failed to start. The contact stated that the oil warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken for an oil change; however, afterwards the failure persisted. On another occasion, the vehicle failed to accelerate or shift into gear. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic however, the mechanic stated that no failure was found. The contact was referred to the dealer for a computer software update. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and the contact was informed that there was no recall for the computer software. The mechanic confirmed that the vehicle was included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V413000 (Power Train). The manufacturer was contacted and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline to file a complaint. The failure mileage was 100,000.
