Consumer Description
The contact owns a 2012 Ford Edge. The contact stated that while his wife was driving at an undisclosed speed and accelerating, the heater operated then became inoperable. No warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that coolant was leaking from the water pump and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer was not notified. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was advised to call the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was 172,000.
