The contact owns a 2014 Hyundai Sonata. The contact stated while driving 73 MPH, the vehicle decelerated, and lost motive power and stalled with unknown warning lights illuminated. The contact was able to pull over on the side of the road. The contact turned off the vehicle and was unable to restart the vehicle. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the body control module (BCM) needed to be replaced. The vehicle was towed to the local dealer and the contact was informed that the engine had seized and needed to be repaired or replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted a case was filed and that the contact was informed that the case agent would contact her. The failure mileage was 82,273.
