NHTSA Complaint #11490989 — 2015 FORD FUSION

The contact owns a 2015 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that while shifted into reverse, she attempted to place the shifter in the drive position however, the shifter failed and was stuck in reverse. No warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the transmission shifter cable bushing needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the transmission shifter cable bushing and the cathodic needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that her VIN was not included in a recall and to call the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was 60,152.
