NHTSA Complaint #11488375 — 2011 FORD EDGE

The contact owns a 2011 Ford Edge. The contact stated that while operating the vehicle, the message "Service Brakes" was displayed. While depressing the brake pedal to stop the vehicle the pedal went to the floor and the braking distance was extended. The vehicle was taken to the local mechanic who replaced the rear brake pads. After retrieving the vehicle, while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle was jerking while depressing the brake pedal. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The local dealer was contacted and notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The manufacturer was not yet notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 70,000.
