Consumer Description

Unsure of time of report but possible electrical issue with rear defroster. White electrical smoke and glass shattered while driving. Smoke filled cabin and was coming from passenger rear seat. Once seat was lowered the smoke was coming from behind the fiberglass so unable to see damage. The two connectors that go to the sliding glass are hanging freely and were sparking when seat was lowered. Rear defroster was on when issue occurred and smoke stopped once turned off. Vehicle has not yet been inspected, awaiting insurance claim. There were no warning signs, messages or symptoms of failure. Incident happened on 09/23/2022 at 7:40 AM while driving on interstate.
