Consumer Description
Electronic sway bar failed to reconnect after taking out of four wheel drive. Push button in cab to engage /disengage does nothing. The indicator light in the instrument panel just flashes but there is nothing in the owner’s manual that says what the flashing light means. The vehicle is available for inspection this week but I have to fix it this weekend because it is my daily driver. It has not been inspected by anyone at this time. When I went around the first corner I realized the sway bar was NOT connected and almost lost control of the vehicle. Since I was in the mountains I had no cell phone service and I was by myself so I had no choice but drive the vehicle in this unsafe condition. Upon research online I have found that this is a known problem and there is nothing to tell you if the sway bar is connected or not. Just a flashing “sway bar” indicator light. I have not taken it to a dealership because I don’t trust my local dealership. I have had it take an unusually long time (approx) 10 miles to reengage the last few outings. And the only way I know it reengaged is the flashing light went out but now I have no idea if it’s engaged because the light just flashes
