NHTSA Complaint #11469402 — 2017 CHRYSLER PACIFICA

The contact owns a 2017 Chrysler Pacifica. The contact stated while driving 30 MPH, the check engine warning light illuminated with smoke coming from the exhaust. The contact stated that she continued driving however, later in the day the vehicle failed to start. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic who stated that coolant was leaking into the gasket and the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was advised to take the vehicle to the dealer to be repaired. The contact stated that the manufacturer informed her that they would assist with repairs at a dealer as part of a Goodwill Program. The contact stated that the failure was an ongoing failure and that the vehicle was previously repaired for an engine failure. The approximate failure mileage was 74,000.
