Consumer Description
This involves our 2021 Keyston Carbon 403 RV (VIN: [XXX]. We purchased the vehicle in February 2021. Travelled about 1000 miles. Took it to Camping World in Wichita from our home for warranty work (not involving the problem) in October 2021; picked it up in March 2022 and drove home. Then on May 13, 2022 we drove the RV up to a nearby lake in Scott City, KS about 45-miles from home. We noticed that the passenger very rear wet bolt was missing from the rear of the very rear leaf spring and that the bracket was twisted and the tire was pushing into the middle tire causing a hazard. We spoke with three different RV technicians and they all said the only way this would happen with that many miles is if the bolt was not tight at the factory. This entire incident could have caused a fire with the tires, a blow out from the tires. An entire axle pushing into the other tires/axles and causing an accident. When pulled into the campsite the only accident was the rear axle was pushed into the middle axle on the passenger side tire. Getting no where with Keystone as they said it was out of warrant. I have an extended warranty but more worried about the safety of this RV. It would not let me put the speeds in the box below. The speeds on the highway was 65 mph and that was the top speed we were travelling on down to 20 mph in the camp site.
