Consumer Description

The contact owns a 2012 Ford Focus. The contact stated while his wife was starting the vehicle, the transmission malfunction warning light was illuminated. The driver continued driving to her residence. The contact stated he was unable to shift from park(P) to drive(D). The contact towed the vehicle to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed with needing the transmission control module to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired but was pending repairs. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 42,000.
