NHTSA Complaint #11465727 — 2012 FORD FOCUS

The contact owns a 2012 Ford Focus. The contact stated that while attempting to reverse the vehicle with the gear shifter in reverse(R), the vehicle failed to respond. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken an independent mechanic to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. Neither the dealer nor the manufacturer was contacted or notified of the failure. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 13V523000 (Power Train) however, the VIN was not included as only the electric models were included in the recall. The approximate failure mileage was 140,000.
