Consumer Description

The contact owns a 2013 Ram 1500. The contact stated while at a stop sign and attempting to make a left turn, the steering wheel lost power steering functionality. The message: "Power Steering Service Needed" had illuminated. The contact was able to continue to drive the vehicle using physical strength to steer the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who diagnosed that the steering rack had failed and needed to be replaced. However, the parts to do the repair were not available. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 70,300. The VIN was not available.
