NHTSA Complaint #11449093 — 2014 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE

The contact owns a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that the vehicle was leaking oil. The vehicle was taken to a local mechanic where it was diagnosed with needing the oil cooler replaced however, the vehicle was not repaired. The contact had spoken to a local dealer and was informed that the vehicle was not included in a recall. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 120,000. The oil cooler in this 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee is located at the top of the engine. When the oil cooler failed, oil leaked onto the hot engine. This situation created a fire hazard. The vehicle was repaired by a local garage.
