NHTSA Complaint #11441272 — 2010 FORD FUSION

The contact owns a 2010 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that while driving approximately 25-30 MPH, the brake pedal went to the floorboard and there was a loss of brake pressure while pumping the brake pedal. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic and diagnosed with brake master cylinder failure. The contact replaced the brake master cylinder himself; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was then taken to the dealer, and the dealer replaced the brake master cylinder again however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was not repaired and remained at the dealer. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V904000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic) however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The failure mileage was approximately 126,000.
