NHTSA Complaint #11532377 — 2010 FORD FUSION

The ABS Hydraulic Control Unit (HCU) fails which causes the brake pedal to require more force to stop vehicle. The safety of those driving and pedestrians are at risk due to the added stopping distance. I took my car to a mechanic that my father frequents, and was told that only the dealer could fix it. I than took it in to a Ford dealership and they confirmed the issue but wanted to charge me an insane price. There was no warning or indication of a problem prior to the HCU failure. The fact that only Ford can service the issue doesn't seem right to me, cause they can charge whatever to fix it.
