Consumer Description
The contact owns a 2015 Hyundai Sonata. The contact stated that while pulling into a parking space, the parking brake inadvertently engaged, and the rear passenger's side wheel locked up. The BRAKE HOLD light was illuminated. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic and diagnosed with electric parking brake motor failure. The contact was informed that the electric parking brake motor needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired and remained with the mechanic. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact that the vehicle was out of warranty. The failure mileage was approximately 65,000.
