NHTSA Complaint #11438342 — 2017 HYUNDAI SONATA

The contact owns a 2017 Hyundai Sonata. The contact stated while driving, there was a ticking sound coming from the engine compartment. The vehicle was taken to the local independent mechanic who indicated that no oil was present in the engine. Oil was added to the engine but later while driving approximately 60 MPH, the vehicle suddenly stalled. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the engine had seized. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The local dealer and manufacturer were notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 56,179.
