NHTSA Complaint #11433959 — 2013 LINCOLN MKS

The contact owns a 2013 Lincoln MKS. The contact stated that while driving at low speeds, the "electric power steering assist system, service required" warning message appeared on the instrument panel. The contact stated that excessive force was needed to steer the vehicle while driving at various speeds. The contact had then taken his vehicle to an independent mechanic where the vehicle was diagnosed with a loss of electrical power steering assist and linked the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 15V340000 (Steering). The contact then called a dealer and was informed that the vehicle was not included in the recall. The manufacturer had yet to be notified of the failure. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 87,000.
