Consumer Description

The contact owns a 2013 Ford Taurus. The contact stated that while driving at 65 MPH, the power steering failed, and the steering wheel was stiff and would not turn. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic and diagnosed as an electric power steering failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but informed the contact that the VIN was included in a recall. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 15V340000 (Steering). The failure mileage was approximately 177,000.
