Consumer Description
The contact owns a 2010 Cadillac SRX. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle would sway from side to side with the service engine warning light illuminated. The contact also stated that an abnormal grinding sound would emit from the axle. Additionally, excessive force was needed to steer the vehicle. The contact had taken the vehicle to an independent mechanic who replaced the driveshaft; however, the power steering failure persisted without warning. The contact then received a recall notice for NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V473000 (Suspension) however, the part to do the recall repair was not available. The contact then took the vehicle to a dealer where she was then referred to another dealer; however, the contact received no response from the second dealer. The manufacturer had been notified of the failure. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the repair. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 67,000. VIN tool confirms parts not available.
