NHTSA Complaint #11419641 — 2019 CHEVROLET TRAX

The contact owns a 2019 Chevrolet Trax. The contact stated that the brakes failed. When the contact drove at 30 mph, the vehicle in front of the contact made a sudden stop for a vehicle that was making a left turn. The contact engaged the brake pedal and the brake pedal failed to move down to slow the vehicle down, and to bring the vehicle to a complete stop. The contact proceeded and came to a stop when it crashed into the vehicle in the front rear and airbags did not deploy. Seat belts did not lock up. The vehicle was taken to an unknown mechanic. However, the mechanic did not provide the contact a diagnostic for the brake system failure. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 8,200.
