NHTSA Complaint #11418268 — 2014 CHEVROLET EQUINOX

The contact owns a 2014 Chevrolet Equinox. The contact stated that while driving approximately 65 mph in the rain with the front windshield wipers activated, the driver’s and passenger’s side wipers suddenly stopped operating causing a visibility hazard to the driver. After stopping to examine the vehicle, the windshield wiper motor could be heard operating although the wiper blades were inoperable. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The local dealer and manufacturer were notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 117,000. The VIN was not available. Consumer stated dealer covered the linkage arm break under their warranty coverage.
