Consumer Description

RANDOM AND INTERMITTENT DRIVETRAIN SHUTTERING AND VIBRATION - SINCE AUG2019 THE 2011 KIA SORENTO EX AWD HAS EXPERIENCED INTERMITTENT AND SUDDEN SEVERE SHUTTERING AND VIBRATION FROM THE DRIVETRAIN. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN BROUGHT TO A KIA DEALERSHIP ON 3 OCCASIONS AND THE PROBLEM COULD NOT BE REPLICATED NOR DIAGNOSED. YET THE PROBLEM REMAINS. THE ISSUES HAS RANDOMLY OCCURRED A TOTAL OF 8 TIMES STARTING IN AUG2019 AND MORE RECENTLY IN JAN2020. THE FREQUENCY OF THE SHUTTERING / VIBRATION IS DIRECTLY RELATED TO THE SPEED OF TRAVEL (VIBRATION FREQUENCY SLOWS AS THE VEHICLE SLOWS). ON EACH OCCASION, I HAD TO PULL OVER TO A COMPLETE STOP SINCE THE VIBRATION WAS SO SEVERE. HOWEVER, FOLLOWING A COMPLETE STOP THE VIBRATION AND SHUTTERING WOULD DISAPPEAR WHEN PLACING THE CAR IN DRIVE AND PROCEEDING TO DRIVE AGAIN. THIS ISSUE REMAINS UNRESOLVED, AND I CONSIDER IT A SAFETY ISSUE. ADDITIONAL INFO IN THE ATTACHMENT
