Consumer Description

TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2007 TOYOTA COROLLA. WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH, THE CONTACT WAS REAR ENDED BY ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED DESTROYED AND TOWED FROM THE SCENE. THE CONTACT WAS TAKEN TO THE HOSPITAL AND SUSTAINED INJURIES TO THE CHEST, HEAD, AND BACK. THE MANUFACTURER AND DEALER WERE NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. AFTER THE CRASH, THE CONTACT RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE FOR NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 19V741000 (AIR BAGS). THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 160,000.
