Consumer Description

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 NISSAN ALTIMA. WHILE DRIVING 70 MPH, THE VEHICLE SEIZED AND SMOKE APPEARED UNDER THE HOOD. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT OPENED THE HOOD AND DOUSED THE ENGINE WITH WATER TO CLEAR THE SMOKE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO STATED THAT THE ENGINE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 146,000.
