Consumer Description

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 JEEP PATRIOT. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE FAILED TO ACCELERATE AND WOULD NOT EXCEED 5 MPH. WHEN AN OIL CHANGE WAS COMPLETED, THE VEHICLE DROVE NORMALLY. ON ANOTHER OCCASION, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO START AND THE CHECK ENGINE, TRACTION CONTROL, AND AN UNKNOWN RED WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT COASTED THE VEHICLE OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND POWERED OFF THE ENGINE. THE VEHICLE WAS RESTARTED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO DARCARS CHRYSLER JEEP WALDORF (11755 BUS PARK DR, WALDORF, MD 20601, (301) 843-5200) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE INTERNAL THROTTLE BODY AND CRANKSHAFT FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND PROVIDED CASE NUMBER: 64739514. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 48,000.
