Consumer Description

MY DAUGHTER WAS DRIVING MY 2013 KIA SOUL, 2.0 ENGINE, ON THE INTERSTATE WHEN THE CAR HAD A SUDDEN LOSE OF POWER. WITHIN A MINUTE OR SO THERE WAS A LOUD POP AND SMOKE ROLLING OUT BEHIND. AFTER BEING TOWED AND INSPECTED WE SEE THAT THE OIL MID PAN FAILED. THERE IS A LARGE CRACK IN THE CAST ALUMINUM JUST BEHIND THE OIL FILTER. I WAS TOLD THIS MUCH BACK PRESSURE IN THE ENGINE PROBABLY MEANS A CLOGGED OR FAULTY CATALYTIC CONVERTER. I HAVE NOTICED A LOT OF SIMILAR COMPLAINTS FROM OTHER KIA OWNERS. CALLED KIA AND WAS TOLD THIS IN NOT COVERED BY ANY WARRANTY OR RECALL. *AS *TR
