Consumer Description

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 TOYOTA COROLLA. WHILE DRIVING, THE AIR BAG WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND THE AIR BAG INDICATOR WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE CONTACT WAS CONCERNED THAT THE AIR BAGS MAY NOT DEPLOY IN THE EVENT OF A CRASH. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO DUBLIN TOYOTA (4321 TOYOTA DR, DUBLIN, CA 94568, (925) 829-7700) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED WITH CODE: B1811 (SRS). THE DEALER STATED THAT THE SPIRAL CABLE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AND RECHECKED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 158,000.
