Consumer Description
I HAVE A 2015 JEEP RUBICON PURCHASED NEW FROM DEALER WITH OEM PARTS INCLUDING FACTORY TIRES. IT WAS ALWAYS A HARDER DRIVE BUT AFTER HITTING 14000 MILES THE TIRES STARTED THUMPING AROUND 40 MILES AN HOUR AND CONTINUED TO GET WORSE, ALONG WITH WOBBLING, SHAKING AND SLIPPING OVER BUMPS. I WAS TOLD THE TIRES NEEDED TO BE ROTATED EVERY 5000 MILES. I HAD THEM ROTATED BUT IT DID NOT RESOLVE THE PROBLEM. I TOOK IT IN AGAIN AS WELL AS TO A LOCAL MECHANIC. THE MECHANIC SAID IT WAS THE TIRES BUT THERE WAS ALSO SOME ISSUES WITH THE BEARINGS. ALL THIS AT 14000 MILES. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE FOR A VEHICLE LESS THAN A YEAR OLD AND A PRICE TAG OF 42,000 DOLLARS. EVEN THOUGH THE TIRES HAD A LIFETIME WARRANTY THE UNEVEN TREAD AND WEAR WAS NOT COVERED. I ENDED UP HAVING A TO BUY A NEW TIRE AND TAKE THE SPARE SO THAT THE FRONT TIRES WITH THE MOST UNEVEN TREAD WERE REPLACED, AT MY EXPENSE. AFTER I WAS TOLD IF I KEEP THE TIRES ROTATED EVERYTIME I GET AN OIL CHANGE I WOULD BE FINE. THIS WAS NOT THE CASE. EVERY TIME I WENT OVER A BUMPY AREA ON THE FREEWAY I WOULD LOSE TRACTION AND WOBBLE. THE ISSUE HAS BEEN CONSTANT AND THE SHAKING AND WOBBLING HAS GOTTEN SO BAD I CANT DRIVE MY JEEP WITHOUT IT TURNING MILK INTO CREAM. I TOOK IT IN FOR MAINTENANCE AT THE JEEP DEALERSHIP, HAD THE TIRES ROTATED AND IT WAS WORSE THAN BEFORE. I TOOK IT BACK, EXPLAINED IN DETAIL AND WAS TOLD LOTS OF CUSTOMERS HAVE EXPRESSED THE SAME ISSUE BUT THAT THE JEEP RUBICON IS NOT MEANT FOR FREEWAY DRIVING THE TIRES ARE FOR MUD, THAT I SHOULD GET NEW TIRES AND JUST DEAL WITH IT, OR SELL IT. IS THAT AN ACCEPTABLE WAY TO STAND BEHIND A PRODUCT? OR AN ACCEPTABLE WAY TO TREAT YOUR CUSTOMER? THE VEHICLE HAS A DEFECT. TIRES THAT COME WITH A 50,000 MILE WARRANTY SHOULD LAST LONGER THAN 14000. SHAKING, WOBBLING, AND VIBRATING AND UNEVEN TIRE TREAD IN A VEHICLE IS NOT NORMAL. THE VEHICLE IS A LEMON AND A BUYBACK SHOULD BE IN EFFECT.
