Consumer Description

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 FORD EDGE. WHILE OPERATING THE VEHICLE, THE ODOR OF FUEL WAS PRESENT AND THE FUEL GAUGE LEVELS RAPIDLY DIMINISHED AFTER REFUELING. UPON INSPECTION, THE OWNER OBSERVED FUEL LEAKING FROM THE FUEL TANK. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO NORTHGATE FORD (8940 COLERAIN AVE, CINCINNATI, OH) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THERE WAS A CRACK IN THE FUEL TANK AND THE TANK NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE, BUT NO ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS PREVIOUSLY SERVICED PER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V682000 (FUEL SYSTEM) IN 2016, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 82,000.
