Consumer Description

MY FAMILY AND I WERE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD WHEN THE CAR BEGAN MAKING NOISES AND DIED. MY HUSBAND WAS ABLE TO GUIDE THE CAR TO A STOP BUT WE WERE UNABLE TO GET OUT OF THE LANE AND ONTO A SHOULDER. AFTER THREE HOURS, THE CAR WAS TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP. THE FOLLOWING DAY, WE WERE TOLD THAT THE ROD BEARINGS LOCKED AND WE NEEDED A NEW ENGINE. WE WERE TOLD THAT THERE WAS STILL OIL IN THE CAR AND NO METAL SHAVINGS IN THE OIL PAN SO IT WAS NOT THE RESULT OF POOR MAINTENANCE. THE CAR HAD BEEN IN FOR AN OIL CHANGE AND MAINTENANCE CHECK ON APRIL 3, 2019 AT THE SAME DEALERSHIP. THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT SAID THEY HAVE SEEN THIS BEFORE IN KIAS AND THAT IT SEEMS TO BE A COMMON ISSUE. THE CAR HAS 80K MILES ON IT.
